Hyperbolic Functions
Course description
In this course, a more advanced study of functions is presented, covering the hyperbolic sine, hyperbolic cosine, hyperbolic tangent, hyperbolic secant, hyperbolic cosecant, and hyperbolic cotangent functions, as well as their respective inverses and hyperbolic functions derived from complex numbers.
Objectives
- Define the hyperbolic sine and cosine functions and the hyperbolic tangent, hyperbolic secant, hyperbolic cosecant, and hyperbolic cotangent functions.
- Recognize the parity of hyperbolic functions.
- Properly manipulate hyperbolic identities.
- Define and analyze inverse hyperbolic functions.
- Recognize the applicability of hyperbolic functions as an important tool in Differential and Integral Calculus.
