EnvelheScience: Training for Educators on Aging and Dementia
Course description
This course aims to raise awareness and qualify educators to integrate topics related to population aging into their pedagogical practices, addressing challenges such as dementias and their prevention, as well as the possibilities of healthy aging. With a focus on brain health, well-being, and prevention, it seeks to promote a comprehensive and proactive view of aging, encouraging an inclusive, intergenerational perspective geared toward a more welcoming and informed society about the different aspects of the life cycle.
Objectives
- Enable teachers and education professionals to integrate the topic of population aging into the school curriculum.
- Raise awareness about the importance of valuing older adults, social inclusion, and building a more inclusive and intergenerational society, aligned with the São Paulo Curriculum and the BNCC.
- Encourage critical reflection and implementation, in basic education, of meaningful practices that promote awareness about human aging and respect for older adults.
- Enable educators to disseminate, among students and the school community, practices that promote brain health, disease prevention, quality of life, and healthy aging.
