Caring for Those Who Care: A Perspective on Violence and Racism Suffered by Black Women Workers in SUS Hospitals
Course description
This course proposes a reflection on the violence and racism experienced by Black women workers in SUS hospitals, considering the historical and structural inequalities present in social and institutional relations.
Throughout the study units, issues related to structural racism, the racial division of labor, gender and racial inequalities in the health field, and the impacts of these forms of violence on the working and living conditions of Black professionals will be addressed.
The course also seeks to promote the construction of a critical and anti-racist perspective in the context of public health, valuing care, equity, and human rights as fundamental principles for transforming institutional practices.
