Introduction to the studies of Brazilian Sign Language
Course description
This course seeks to provide students with an introductory knowledge about Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) and the cultural aspects of the social conception of deafness, bringing general concepts about the deaf community, the use of sign language, as well as a general contextualization of the grammatical functioning of a visual-gestural language such as Libras.
Objectives
- Provide introductory knowledge about the language used by Brazilian deaf communities;
- Present general notions about the social aspect of deafness.
