Translation Studies: an introduction
Course description
The field of Translation Studies has developed considerably in recent decades, considering primarily the Brazilian context.
Given this, this course aims to present this field to those interested in getting to know this heterogeneous and complex universe leveraged by the expansion of research in recent decades.
Brazil has both consumed and produced translations, which raises a series of questions regarding the place that Translation Studies occupy in the academic sphere, as well as in the education of translators and readers.
Objectives
- Understand the field of Translation Studies for undergraduate students and interested individuals;
- Discuss the development of Translation Studies in the Brazilian context;
- Learn in practice about the various areas of Translation Studies that are around us.
