Gender issues in Early Childhood Education
Course description
This course aims to promote reflection on gender issues in early childhood education, identifying elements that support identity construction.
It also proposes pedagogical practices that break with stereotyped views and rigid divisions between boys and girls.
Objectives
- Understand how gender differences are products of history and education in our society.
- Recognize early childhood education as a space that can reproduce gender stereotypes.
- Analyze how pedagogical practices may maintain inequalities and limit experiential possibilities.
- Reflect on the role of early childhood education in combating gender inequality.
