The Open Courses Portal – PoCA is a platform for open and free distance learning courses available in the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment. Read more at Discover PoCA.
Check your Spam folder, as the confirmation email might have been sent there. If it is in your Spam box, select the email and mark it as Not Spam. Open the email again in your inbox and follow the procedure indicated to confirm your registration. If you still can't find it, write to contato@poca.ufscar.br.
If you are part of the UFSCar community or another Higher Education Institution as a professor (including visiting), technical-administrative staff, or graduate student, you can propose and add courses to the UFSCar Open Courses Portal. To do this, access the following address How to propose courses.
To recover your password, on the PoCA home page, click on Acesso aos cursos (Access to courses) and in the upper right corner click on the Acessar (Login) link. Then click on Forgotten your username or password? and fill in the requested information. You will receive a password recovery email. Follow the instructions.
There is no limit to enrollment in PoCA courses.
Generally, courses are organized into learning units, with study materials in different media and proposed activities. The format is self-directed learning, and you set your own pace, taking as much time as you want.
Yes, all courses entitle you to an extension certificate from UFSCar, provided the student meets the minimum requirements determined in each course.
All courses are open to the general public. However, course proposals are restricted to professors, technical-administrative staff, and graduate students from UFSCar and other higher education institutions.
Generally, tutoring is not provided for PoCA courses. However, tracking by an instructor or teacher (tutoring) may occasionally exist for some courses; you should check this possibility in the description of each course offered on the portal.
The courses follow a self-directed learning approach, with no mediation by teachers and/or tutors. However, you can exchange information with other course participants through interaction forums.
Yes, the materials will be available even after the student completes the course. However, according to the conditions presented in the PoCA Terms of Use, SEaD does not commit to the permanent availability of the courses.
