How to propose courses

1
If you are part of the UFSCar community or another Higher Education Institution (HEI) as a professor (including visiting), technical-administrative staff, or graduate student, you can propose and insert courses into the UFSCar Open Courses Portal (PoCA).
2
Graduate students from UFSCar or other HEIs can also propose courses on PoCA, provided that the course is developed in partnership with a professor or technical-administrative staff member linked to a higher education institution.
3
PoCA courses are developed based on two pedagogical principles: microlearning and self-directed learning.
4
Microlearning is a distance education method that promotes the learning of specific content in short and objective processes. This approach generally features courses with defined content and activities that require less time from the participant. For PoCA courses, a workload between 5 and 10 hours is recommended.
5
This approach favors greater information retention, as it organizes content into smaller units of knowledge and allows for greater learning personalization. Thus, the participant can select only the content that interests them most.
6
Self-directed learning assumes that participants take the initiative to diagnose their learning needs — including knowledge, skills, and competencies — and choose content and resources across different media and technologies that best meet those needs.
7
If you are interested in this approach, submit a course proposal using the online form. If you have any questions, please contact us at contato@poca.ufscar.br.
8
Before submitting your proposal, please carefully read and agree to the PoCA Terms of Use for course proposers . The pedagogical team of the General Secretariat of Distance Education at UFSCar will evaluate your proposal and contact you later.
Important: Course proposals undergo pedagogical evaluation by the team at the General Secretariat of Distance Education at UFSCar. After the analysis, proposers will be informed about the next steps for developing and publishing the course on the Open Courses Portal.
